As adults, we all know how stressful life can be and we also know the importance of a healthy mind which allows us to deal with everything and anything it throws our way. But as children, this isn’t so easy to understand. 

The weight of the school day, making friends, learning what seems like an encyclopaedia of new skills can all be overly daunting for a young mind.  Add to that the threat of bullying, peer pressure, loneliness and not feeling like they’re fitting in, like they’re different to other children.

Life can be hard for our little ones as they come across new situations and experiences and whilst it’s sometimes easier for us adults to deal with these types of circumstances, research suggests children react more intensely to situations where they feel uneasy, overwhelmed and threatened. When children feel that they don’t fit in because their skin is a different colour, or that they have an accent, or they wear glasses, or aren’t good at soccer like their friends, these sensations can lead to the child feeling fearful, worried, unconfident, anxious, and ultimately sad.

 

Jumble Jungle was created as a fun way to remind children that its ok to be different. All humans are humans, but we’re different, all animals are animals, but they’re all different.  The whole world is full of individuality, which is all good.
